Trackside with Brian Tagg

Well as of last Tuesday the team put the car back together. We had to get 2 new quarter panels and new back panel. We also had new nerf bars made up and new bumper brackets. All in all the car looks great!! It has new front peice for the air to get through a little easier and the rear nerf bars are painted orange maybe for a little luck we will see. We are going to the second practice at Thompson, which is Thursday May 14th. We will be shaking the car down and getting back to where it was at the Icebreaker!!!

Well the weekend started off great. I went out in the first practice and the car was just great. The next two practices got a little bit slower due to the Modified Tour being there and the sun was out making the track change a bit. The 8 lap qualifier was good for us but bad for a few. I started 10th. On the first lap there was a pileup in turn 1. I restarted 7th and moved into 3rd place within a lap and thats where I finished. On Sunday we started straight up. The first restart was awsome for me. That refreshened Jasper engine has some more power this year and it goes. I settled into 3rd for the first lap as the caution comes out. On the following restart the outside pole sitter jumped the start so the guy on pole didnt go which is fine I don’t blame him, they were throwing the lazy green and I just had my hand up letting people know and next thing I know I get hit in the right rear and turned into the wall. The car was fine a little bent up but I was able to keep going taking my place at the rear. I was able to climb up to 6th and I should of calmed down because I was a little faster than the guy in 5th but I got a little excited and got the car out of shape and lost like 2 spots i was so frustrated with myself we had such a great car. I finished 8th, not the start to 2009 I was looking for but we have a lot of races and a very good car, we as a team are still learning especially me!!! I am learning to give better feedback with less emotion so I can explain it better to the crew. I am looking forward to the next race for sure……
